Your hosts & Coaches.

Skylar Sorokoty is a RRCA-certified coach whose love for the Boston Marathon began when his college coach introduced him to the Duel in the Sun. From that moment, the race became one of his biggest running obsessions. After several trials and setbacks, he finally qualified at the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon and went on to run and complete the 2019 Boston Marathon.

Since then, Skylar has developed a deep affinity for the event—he consumes all the Boston Marathon content he can find, from race strategy breakdowns to athlete stories. That passion translates into his coaching: he has guided athletes of all ages to achieve their own Boston qualifications.

While every running goal matters, Skylar finds particular fulfillment in helping runners reach Boston. Having experienced firsthand the sacrifice and perseverance it takes, he feels a special connection when helping others chase that same dream.

James Nance is a UESCA certified running coach with Microcosm Coaching based in Fort Collins, CO. He began racing half and full marathons in 2012 and set his sights on qualifying for the Boston Marathon shortly thereafter, inspired by a friend of his who had run it twice. After several attempts, he finally qualified within the cutoff time at Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth, MN and ran the Boston Marathon in 2018. Since then, James has continued running, picked up road cycling, and discovered a passion for coaching runners, cyclists, and multisport athletes of all levels.
